Privacy Policy
SnapScale Co., Ltd. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") (521 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul 06164, South Korea) operates the SnapScale platform at snapscaie.com. We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and in line with applicable data protection law, including the Personal Information Protection Act of South Korea (PIPA) and international good-practice standards. Contact: [email protected].
1. What SnapScale Does and Why It Matters for Privacy
SnapScale is an AI document-consistency platform built specifically for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firms managing plant-design documentation. Our service reads engineering document sets -- P&IDs, instrument datasheets, line lists, and equipment specifications -- and flags every downstream inconsistency when an upstream number changes.
Because our customers work in an industry where document accuracy has direct safety and compliance consequences, we treat the engineering documents they submit to SnapScale with the same discipline their own engineering teams apply. Document sets submitted for consistency review are processed solely to generate cross-reference indexes and propagation reports. We do not use submitted document content to train machine-learning models, develop competing products, or share it with third parties outside the scope of providing the service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you submit directly
- Account registration details: name, work email address, company name, role.
- Contact and sales inquiry data submitted via the contact form on snapscaie.com: name, company, role, project description, and email address.
- Engineering documents uploaded to the platform for consistency review (P&IDs, datasheets, line lists, equipment specs, and similar EPC project files).
- Communications you send us by email or through our support channels.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referring URL, and pages visited on snapscaie.com.
- Usage data: feature interactions within the platform, session duration, and error logs.
- Cookie and local-storage data as described in our Cookie Policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected:
- To deliver the service: processing uploaded document sets to produce cross-reference indexes, change propagation reports, and consistency flags for your engineering project.
- To manage your account: authentication, billing, and support for Pilot, Project, and Program tier users.
- To respond to inquiries: follow-up on contact-form submissions and access requests, typically within two business days.
- To improve the platform: analysing aggregated, de-identified usage patterns to improve accuracy of the consistency engine and document-type support.
- To comply with legal obligations: responding to lawful requests from authorities, maintaining records as required by applicable law.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use engineering document content submitted to SnapScale to train AI or machine-learning models without your explicit written consent.
4. Sharing Personal Information
We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: cloud infrastructure providers, payment processors, and analytics tools acting as processors under written agreements that restrict their use of data to providing services to us.
- Legal requirements: where disclosure is required by applicable law, court order, or lawful governmental authority.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, personal information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections.
Uploaded engineering documents are not shared with third parties except cloud infrastructure providers necessary to store and process them on our behalf.
5. Retention and Security
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and for a reasonable period thereafter to resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations. Uploaded engineering documents associated with completed or closed projects are deleted within 90 days of project closure unless a longer retention period is agreed in a data processing agreement (as available under the Program tier).
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of engineering project data, including encrypted transmission (TLS), access controls, and logging of document access events.
6. Your Rights Under PIPA and International Good Practice
Under South Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and consistent with international good-practice standards, you have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations;
- Request suspension of processing in certain circumstances;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal;
- Lodge a complaint with the Personal Information Protection Commission of Korea (PIPC) or the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.
7. Cross-Border Data Transfers
SnapScale is operated from Seoul, South Korea. Personal information may be transferred to and processed by cloud service providers whose infrastructure is located in other countries. Where such transfers occur, we require contractual safeguards ensuring a level of protection equivalent to that required by PIPA.

See our Cookie Policy for full details on how we use cookies and how to manage them.
