How SnapScale Works

From P&ID markup to propagated review, in minutes not days.

SnapScale connects to your engineering document set, builds a cross-reference index of every tag, attribute, and parameter, then tracks every conflict when a number changes.

3 min to first report
40+ document types
12+ docs per tag change
Document Ingestion

Connect your document set. No migration required.

SnapScale reads P&IDs, instrument datasheets, line lists, and equipment specifications in their native formats. Upload files directly or connect via your document management system.

STEP 01

Upload your project document set

SnapScale accepts the document types present in any EPC plant-design package. Supported formats: P&ID PDF, instrument datasheet XLS/PDF, line list XLS, equipment specification PDF. You can upload a complete FEED package in one batch.

P&ID (PDF, multi-sheet)
Instrument datasheets (XLS, PDF)
Line lists (XLS)
Equipment specifications (PDF)

Cross-Reference Index

Every tag. Every attribute. Every document that references it.

SnapScale builds a live cross-reference index: every instrument tag, line size, equipment parameter, and operating condition, mapped to every document that declares, references, or depends on that value.

CROSS-REFERENCE INDEX / PROJECT-2402 / REV R3 4 CONFLICTS
Tag P&ID Rev3 Datasheet DS-201 Instrument Index Line List LL-07
TE-201 340 C 340 C 320 C 320 C

PG-302 150 PSIG 120 PSIG 150 PSIG N/A
LT-418 4-20 mA 4-20 mA 4-20 mA N/A
Change Propagation

When a number changes, every conflict surfaces immediately.

Mark a revision on any document, and SnapScale walks the cross-reference index to find every downstream value that no longer agrees.

STEP 02 / TAG A REVISION

Mark the change on the source document

Open the revision in SnapScale, select the changed attribute, and confirm the new value. SnapScale propagates from that single point of truth.

Select the instrument tag or line attribute
Confirm old value, new value, and revision reference

STEP 03 / REVIEW AND CLOSE

Assign, review, and sign off on each conflict

Each flagged conflict can be assigned to the responsible discipline engineer. They confirm the update, note the revision reference, and close the item. SnapScale tracks the review state across the full document set.

Integration

Works alongside your existing document management system.

SnapScale is a consistency-checking layer, not a DMS replacement. It reads from your existing document set and writes reviews back in standard formats.

01

No migration required

Upload documents in their current format. SnapScale does not require a document migration or format conversion.

02

Export in standard formats

Export conflict reports, review records, and sign-off logs to CSV or PDF. Compatible with existing project document registers.

03

API for DMS integration

The Program tier includes API access for direct integration with your DMS. Available for custom workflows on request.
